Yeah this is what I said in my DA journal that made Gabby and Kaz cry a river of angst at me. You can’t copy other pictures/photos and call it your own art. If you aren’t drawing freehand, you’re not actually drawing.

so this guy i know asked me how he can “draw better” and then he proceeded to tell me that he can’t draw freehand? that he just looks at pictures and tries to recreate them on a paper. And it’s not like “oh i’m looking at a still life/model and i gesture draw it” but he looks at other peoples artwork, recreates it and changes things about it so...
